Huy Duong Gia, PhD student at NILU, and Jurian Jasper Onderwater, scientist from UiT working at NILU Lab, are currently finalizing the 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐎 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 (linked to MISO Intelligent Framework – Miso), bringing the system one step closer to commercialization.
The MISO Intelligent Framework is an integrated software and hardware framework that transforms static sensors into an intelligent, dynamic, and sustainable sensing network.
🔬 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐎 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐎 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦:
• Significant reduction in power consumption without compromising model accuracy, enabling the sensing network to operate autonomously for long periods in hard-to-reach areas
• Ensuring sensing data remains accurate throughout the entire lifespan of the device without interrupting operation
• Autonomous updating and management of an entire sensor network deployed across remote environments such as the Arctic and wetlands, where human servicing is difficult
🌱 The MISO Intelligent Framework is part of the MISO monitoring platform, which is designed for deployment in hard-to-reach areas without existing communication infrastructure or power supply.
🎯 This represents another important step towards scalable, autonomous, and intelligent environmental monitoring systems for remote and climate-sensitive environments.
