The need for cost-effective, localized greenhouse gas (GHG) data is growingโ€”complementing traditional high-cost monitoring stations, satellite observations, and other remote sensing approaches.

The NILU team has developed a plug-and-play continuous ambient gas monitor:
๐Ÿ”—Ambient Monitor for CHโ‚„ย and COโ‚‚ โ€“ Miso
The system integrates a data acquisition platform with NDIR sensors from Senseair:
๐Ÿ”— Gas sensor at ppm level โ€“ Miso
combined with a Machine Learningโ€“based calibration model to autonomously and continuously measure CHโ‚„ and COโ‚‚ concentrations in ambient air.

A plug-and-play ambient gas monitor for CHโ‚„ and COโ‚‚, integrating the following components and features:

โ€ข Low-cost NDIR sensors
โ€ข AI/Deep Learningโ€“based calibration for high accuracy
โ€ข Temperature and humidity stabilization for harsh conditions
โ€ข Real-time telemetry and local data logging
โ€ข Autonomous operation with low maintenance needs

NILU is now working towards commercialization, positioning this system as a cost-effective micro-observatory for GHG emissions in industrial, environmental, and regulatory applications.
