Now, Senseair is bringing its expertise to environmental monitoring applications with the K96 sensor — a compact, high-resolution, multi-channel NDIR sensor designed to measure key greenhouse gases like CO2, CH4, and N2O.
Key features of the K96:
- Small size (4cm x 3cm x 3cm), made of high-quality plastic material, and designed for low-cost mass production.
- Capable of measuring up to 3 gases simultaneously with varying resolutions and concentration ranges.
- Patented optical design that compensates for real-time cross-interferences between NDIR channels (e.g., CH4 and H2O).
As part of the MISO project, we are optimizing the K96 sensor for CH4 and CO2 measurements in three key use cases:
- Continuous monitoring in static observatories
- Hotspot detection by drone
- Soil emissions using flux chambers
Key developments include:
- Thermal stabilization of the sensor for accurate performance in harsh environmental conditions.
- A calibration model fine-tuned to correct cross-interference between CH4 and H2O measurements, ensuring accurate readings at low atmospheric concentrations.
